Who I Am
I’m a coach and therapist based in Los Angeles, California with a Masters degree in Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Denver.
For over a decade, I’ve worked with elite athletes, touring professionals, actors, musicians, creatives, and founders. The kind of people who live under pressure, carry the weight of expectation, and still feel like they’re falling short behind the scenes.
My background includes professional and division I college tennis, private coaching for high-profile clients, and a deep dive into the psychology of performance, identity, and change. I’ve trained, studied, and worked at the intersection of mind, body, and story - not just as a practitioner, but as someone who’s lived it.
This work is personal.
I know what it feels like to seem “put together” on the outside while silently struggling underneath. I built this practice to help people move through that space - not with cliches or surface-level hacks, but with real, grounded work that brings your nervous system, mindset, and sense of self into alignment.
What I offer isn’t traditional therapy. It’s not basic coaching either. It’s an honest, psychology driven process designed to get you unstuck and help you live from a place that’s real, not performative.
If you’re ready for that kind of work, I’m here for it.
How I Work
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
We look at the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and work together to identify patterns that keep you stuck. From there, we build tools to shift how you respond, relate, and move through life.
Parts Work - (IFS-Inspired)
I believe we all have different parts of ourselves, some protective, some wounded, some wise. I help you build a relationship with these parts, so you can feel more whole, less reactive, and more grounded in who you really are.
Present-Focused, Past-Aware
We stay rooted in what’s showing up for you now, whether it’s anxiety, relationship dynamics, or emotional burnout, while gently connecting the dots to your past, without getting stuck there.
FAQs
-
While I work with many professional athletes, actors, and artists, this is for everyone. We all have so much potential to grow and become a better version of ourselves.
-
I do not take insurance - all sessions are cashpay and can be paid by credit card, check, or HSA.
-
Most sessions are 50-minute once a week online (zoom, FaceTime, etc). Consider this your hour every week dedicated to work on you.
-
Therapy typically focuses on healing — exploring your past, patterns, and emotional health to create change from the inside out. Coaching is more future-focused — helping you clarify goals, take action, and stay accountable.
In my practice, we blend both. Some sessions feel more therapeutic, especially when you’re navigating emotional blocks or burnout. Others feel more like performance coaching — sharpening mindset, structure, or confidence.
The goal isn’t to fit you into a model. It’s to meet you where you are — and move forward from there.
What people say
-
“Working with Mads gave me space to be honest — not just about my career, but about everything I was avoiding underneath. His approach is grounded, sharp, and somehow still gentle. I don’t think I would’ve made the changes I did without him.”
— B.P, Filmmaker & Creative Director
-
“I came to Mads during a period of burnout where everything looked great on paper but felt hollow. I left with more clarity, confidence, and a plan that actually made sense for me. Our sessions were the highlight of my week.”
— J.S, Entrepreneur & Former Professional Athlete
-
“Mads has a way of seeing the real you — not the version you show the world, but the one that’s been stuck underneath. If you’re high-functioning but feel lost, he’s the guy you want in your corner.”
— J.W, Actor & Performer
